RED5 is a streaming application which can be used to stream live broadcasting.<\/p>\n

I done it today for a client from srilankan to for a live streaming. The steps are given below which helps anyone to install it.<\/p>\n

First Of all install java<\/p>\n

yum -y install java-1.6.0-openjdk  java-1.6.0-openjdk-devel\r\n\r\nThen Install ANT\r\n\r\n<\/strong>\r\n\r\n
cd \/root\/tmp\r\nwget http:\/\/mirrors.kahuki.com\/apache\/ant\/bin...in.tar.bz2<\/a>\r\ntar jxvf apache-ant-1.8.0-bin.tar.bz2\r\nmv apache-ant-1.8.0 \/usr\/local\/ant<\/pre>\n
Export the Variable For ANT as given below:<\/p>\n

yum install perl-URI\r\n\r\nyum install subversion\r\n\r\nThen Install RED5\r\n\r\n
svn co http:\/\/red5.googlecode.com\/svn\/java\/server\/tags\/0_8_0\/<\/a> red5\r\nmv red5 \/usr\/local\/\r\ncd \/usr\/local\/red5\r\n\r\nant prepare\r\nant dist\r\ncp -r dist\/conf .\r\n\r\nStart RED5:\r\n\r\n
.\/red5.sh &\r\n\r\nEDIT init script:\r\nvi \/etc\/init.d\/red5\r\n\r\ndownload http:\/\/www.sohailriaz.com\/downloads\/red5.txt<\/a> and copy \/ paste code in it. The init script code also be viewed below.\r\n<\/pre>\n

Now test the RED5 installation by opening following URL in browser<\/p>\n

\nThe link http:\/\/gregoire.org\/2008\/10\/01\/red5-admin\/ helps me to fix a major issue that I faced after the installation.
\nRED5 ADMIN<\/strong>
\nhttp:\/\/YOUR_SERVER_IP:5080\/installer\/ (install admin)
\nhttp:\/\/YOUR_SERVER_IP:5080\/admin\/register.html (add user\/pass)<\/p>\n
http:\/\/YOUR_SERVER_IP:5080\/admin\/<\/p>\n
TROUBLESHOOTING<\/strong><\/p>\n
http:\/\/YOUR_SERVER_IP:5080\/demos\/port_tester.html<\/p>\n
* when testing ports, use server IP not localhost
\nMake these ports accept connections: 1935,  1936, 5080, 8088<\/p>\n
tomcat-dbcp.jar<\/strong> \u2013 only needed if the next error occurs:
\njavax.naming.NamingException: Could not create resource factory instance  [Root exception is java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:  org.apache.tomcat.dbcp.dbcp.BasicDataSourceFactory]
\n*if the above error occurs, place the tomcat-dbcp.jar in [red5 root]\/lib and restart red5<\/p>\n
mysql-connector-java-5.1.12-bin.jar<\/strong> missing
\nif you are unable to connect to backend services, it means that the  MySQL driver is missing, download it and place it in your \/lib folder<\/p>\n
commons-dbcp-1.4.jar<\/strong> missing
\nif you are unable to start your Red5 application (or it doesn\u2019t even  show up in admin), download commons-dbcp-1.4.jar and place it in your  \/lib folder<\/p>\n
Red5 Admin not found Red5 0.9<\/strong>
\nAfter installing Red5 0.9 and trying to access SERVER_IP:5080\/admin\/ you will (may) encounter the following error:<\/p>\n
HTTP Status 404 \u2013 \/admin
\ntype Status report
\nmessage \/admin
\ndescription The requested resource (\/admin) is not available.
\nApache Tomcat\/6.0.26<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
no problem, the admin panel was moved here: SERVER_IP:5080\/demos\/adminPanel.html<\/p>\n
When logging in, use the server IP for \u201cServer Address\u201d and the user \u201cadmin\u201d with the password \u201cadmin\u201d.<\/p>\n
If that does not work, you must register an admin user, just follow the instructions below:[\/b]
\n*assuming that your Red5 installation path is \/usr\/local\/red5 if it is  different (ex. \/opt\/red5 or \/opt\/red5\/dist\/) just change those values in  the following commands<\/p>\n
Get the plugins:<\/p>\n
cd \/root\/tmp\r\nmkdir \/usr\/local\/red5\/plugins\r\nwget http:\/\/red5.googlecode.com\/files\/AdminPlugin-1.0.zip\r\nunzip -d \/usr\/local\/red5\/plugins AdminPlugin-1.0.zip\r\n<\/pre>\n
Get the Red5 admin register page:<\/p>\n
mkdir \/usr\/local\/red5\/webapps\/admin\r\nwget http:\/\/red5.googlecode.com\/files\/admin.jsp\r\nmv admin.jsp \/usr\/local\/red5\/webapps\/admin\r\n<\/pre>\n
*restart Red5 (\/etc\/init.d\/red5 restart)<\/p>\n
Access Register Admin page: YOUR_IP:5080\/admin\/admin.jsp and register your admin user and password.<\/p>\n
